Kew Gardens Summer Edition 2023 – CEO Message

CEO Message

Dear Residents, Relatives and Friends, How time flies when you’re having fun! That’s been the motto for both our facilities recently, as we make up for lost time due to the restrictions placed onto us during the pandemic and continue operating under ‘Covid normal’ conditions.

Even throughout these challenging times, many positive changes have been happening with an exciting extension currently under construction for Kew Gardens, offering an additional 53 state-of-theart boutique Suites, which will be completed by mid to late 2023. As part of these works, all current rooms will be renovated along with many of our communal spaces. Please reach out to Marie Girdham should you like to review the plans.

We are also very pleased to announce the development of our brand new facility, Mount Eliza Gardens Aged Care, which is also currently under construction on the stunning Mornington Peninsula, due for completion mid-2023.

Mt Eliza Gardens Aged Care has been purposefully designed with careful attention to detail in the quality of the living environment and services provided. The brand new 141 bed facility will be staffed to meet the increasingly discerning standards demanded by our ageing population.

The same superior standards we also apply to Kew Gardens and Banfields.

Finally, we have been searching for top professionals in the industry to make up our Leadership and
Administration Teams. I welcome the appointment of our new Kew Gardens Director of Care, Kath Carlisle,
who will be assisted by a robust team, including new starters Nandita Puri, AACG Quality and Compliance
Manager and Setareh Mousavian, who has been promoted to our Clinical Care Manager, after working with us and progressing from a PCA to a Registered Nurse for more than 9 years. Marie Girdham also joined us late last year, coming into her role of Group Admissions Manager with vibrant energy. Finally, Greg Gunn has joined as our Operations Manager also in late 2022 to round out this fantastic team of professionals and help lead us into the future.

The central task for me as CEO is to build an efficient and effective leadership team, which will take the Australian Aged Care Group Pty Ltd into a safe and viable future, for the benefit of our residents, their families and our valued staff.

We have continually invested in systems, processes, people and our culture, working to improve accountability at all levels. Our entire leadership team is committed to learning, understanding and supporting the needs of our residents and their families, as well as keeping on top of all the challenges aged care providers continue to face.

Cultural transformation is a way to ensure sustainability of our facilities going forward and that our residents and their families are firmly at the centre of all our past, current and future efforts.

We anticipate 2023 to be our biggest and best year yet!
